Hi Shell--I think the only way to "understand" Twitter is just do it and figure it out along the way, mostly it's fun, but it is a good quick way to keep up with a lot of different conversational threads and also what I really like is it kind of cross-pollinates, for me, amongst different segments of my life, from my previous career in technology startups to my current business in real estate, along with horses, food, wine, the environment, etc. Not to mention politics. When you think of it, we all have a lot of interests and it is interesting to "see" them come together online at Twitter.

As far as searching, besides Trulia, there is Realtor.com, Cleanoffer (with an agent sponsorship), Zip Realty, Redfin, etc. Some of them directly tie into the MLS, such as Realtor.com, whereas others may pull from other sources, such as magazine or other on-line listings and may not be completely up to date or reliable. When you are ready to work with a realtor they can set up a search portal for you and then you can both be on the same page and very up to date. The new client portal feature on our MLS software by Rappatoni is a very good collaborative tool. Good luck!

Thanks for the tips on trulia - your "t" links sound great I still don't quite understand twitter though, and I am close to 20! I wanted to know if you knew anything about all those other real estate sites out there. I have been using one called PropertyMaps that has proved useful - and I really think the internet search is the way to go with looking for a home. I'll check out trulia - are there any more you would recommend?
