Hi Gretchen–this type of program seems to be spreading and is available in other places in California and other states. Here is an article the New York Times did a few weeks ago on the subject.

Thanks for informing us of this great program, Pam. My husband and I own a house in another county and when we obtained an estimate to add solar power to our home, we were very intimidated by the upfront cost. I hope other counties will soon follow Sonoma County’s lead and make alternative energy a more affordable option.
